May the Force be with you - Introducing a brand with a strong ethical commitment
While analyzing the Summer straw bag trend - and trying not to jump to magazines' selections of the "best straw bags of the season" - I came across FOS Concept, an ethical brand recently established in Paris. After a few meaningful exchanges with Claudie, the founder of the brand, we decided to meet in the epicenter of the Brussels' fashion scene: the Dansaert area.
I learned that FOS' mission is to encourage people to consume in a more committed and responsible way. While boosting better consumption, the brand certainly does not want to teach lessons, nor to blame anyone. Instead, it favours a positive approach based on values such as Traceability, Authenticity and Sustainability.
Fashion revolution is underway, BE PREPARED!
Meaningful collaborations are essential to FOS. The brand only collaborates with people who are in line with FOS' values. FOS often uses the term "Gross Interior Happiness". Be sensitive to your own vibrations, listen to your inner voice. Do yourself good, treat yourself well, learn to love yourself. Let go of your fears, of your own limitations.
F stands for Force, Strength.
O stands for Ouverture, Openness.
S stands for Sincérité, Sincerity.
Be yourself. Accept yourself. Believe in yourself.
The message is clear.
When Claudie presented the straw bag from FOS' collaboration with the designer of the EKETE eshop, and the project behind it, I was totally under the spell. I could not resist that bag! The good news is that there is no reason not to give in. The fun round shape of it, its size, the amazing leather details... FOS' creation has become my IT bag of Summer 2018.
Furthermore, by carrying the straw bag, I support an action for women and children in Nigeria. Indeed, a part of the proceeds from the sales is returned to an orphanage in Nigeria, the country where are produced the handmade straw bags in partnership with Pathemma association. To know that it does some good to the people involved in the process is very appreciable and rewarding.
I admire FOS' engagement and desire to get away from the borders of fashion capitals. The change is necessary, I definitely encourage it!
FOS Concept will open a concept boutique in Brussels in September 2018, a warm and friendly living area, where you will find clothes, cosmetics (massage oils, organic fragrances...), accessories, wellness (yoga classes for adults and children), home and lifestyle items.
