My best of beauty 2017!

I am such a snob when it comes to beauty products. The thing is that my skin is so sensitive and prone to blemishes that it makes it difficult to find the rare pearls. I am rarely completely satisfied with skin care products - therefore when there are exceptions, I gladly share my discoveries.

Best mask. I have discovered the Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask a few months ago and as always, I tested the product for at least 2 weeks in order to be able to judge it. As already mentioned, my skin is very reactive and breakouts can take some time to form in reponse to using the wrong product. This peel mask has never disappointed me. The product is perfect for those with a dull complexion, it boosts radiance in as little as 10 minutes. I use it twice a week and my skin is definitely clearer.

Best cream. In 2017, I tested many facial creams including Sisley's Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream. That cream is said to replump the skin and promote the complexion's radiance with immediate and long-term youthful actions, though to speak frankly I haven't noticed any improvement at all. In November, I decided to give a chance to Rexaline. Their concept since 2008: supply the skin with the optimal dose of hydration it daily needs. In 2017, the brand decided to offer a new range of products dedicated to sensitive skin, Rexaline Derma Comfort Cream combining anti-aging expertise with comfort. Stunning!

Best serum. Vine[Activ] Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum, a lightweight serum promoting a youthful-looking glow by protecting skin against the effects of pollution. A nice one to smooth the first free lines and wrinkles.

Best eye treatment. I have been using Kielh's creamy under eye treatment with avocado for a few months until a beauty consultant at Senteurs d'Ailleurs in Brussels suggested another product from the brand: the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Eye Brightening Concentrate. Yes, I know, one might think it is not nice... but I prefer the plain direct advice to flattery. The concentrate contains a potent concentration of pure vitamin C known to improve the appearance of aging skin. I apply a small amount of eye treatment every evening before going to bed and I must admit the result is amazing: I look less tired in the morning!

Best sunscreen. Avène's sunscreen creams and lotions are ideal for my sensitive skin. I generally use the one from the Cleanance line: it contains broad spectrum SPF 50+ UVA/UVB filters with a lightweight texture.

Best micellar water. I love Bioderma's Hydrabio H2O micellar water, which is perfectly compatible with my skin. The brand tells us that the constituent elements of micelles are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes and naturally help rebuild the skin's hydrolipic film. Well, the description on Bioderma's website might be slightly complex, yet their Hydrabio H20 micellar water is truly a must-have. I use it morning and evening on a cotton pad. It removes make-up from face and eyes while guaranteeing comfort.

Best skin rescue. Without any doubt: Galderma's Benzac 10% Gel. Beware, the product is not sexy at all,

Benzac is intentended for use as an aid in the treatment of mild to moderate acne. Therefore, I use it occasionally and with caution. The product is sold over the counter and is perfect to clear skin in an efficient and expedient manner. It is important to note that exposure to sunglight or ultra-violet light must be avoided when using Benzac.

Best foundation. My discovery of the year 2017 is Sisley's Phyto-Teint Expert (Soft Beige). As I have already shared, my skin is extremely reactive and it has proven difficult to fight the right product. I have tested so many foundations that induced blemishes or caused irritation to my skin. I have been so very positively surprised with Sisley's little wonder. Phyto-Teint Expert is a fluid, oil-free, non-comedogenic foundation with a natural result. When I use it in the morning, my skin is left unified, perfected. When I have some severe imperfections to cover, I apply Vichy's Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation, which conceals even intense flaws in one swipe!

Best face oil. My facial oil of the year 2017 is Caudalie's Vine[Activ] Overnight Detox Night Oil. A plant-based oil that works overnight to address fine lines & wrinkles and uneven skin tone. I warm 6 drops of oil in the palm of my hands, then massage onto my face. My facial skin looks detoxified and brighter in the morning, I am in love with it!
